There are some notable snubs.  Kathryn Bigelow and Quentin Tarantino were left out of the Best Director race, pretty surprising especially since Kathryn took home the award three years ago for The Hurt Locker.  Also, surprising since both movies received nominations for Picture and Screenplay.  The acting nominations shook out pretty much how I thought they would.

Seth Macfarlane will either be really good or will be like David Letterman's hosting gig, panned at the time, but appreciated more and more as time passes.  This is the option that I am betting on.  You can see the 85th Annual Academy Awards when it airs on ABC February 24th (the day after my big 3-0) at 8/7 central.  You can check back here in a few weeks for my Oscar predictions.
