TV News: AMC's The Killing Officially Un-Cancelled

After months of rumors, speculation, and even a casting call, AMC finally made it official.  The Killing, AMC's polarizing drama, will return for a third season.  The Killing started off strong, telling the story of the murder of teenage Rosie Larsen.  Viewers were under the impression that the killer's identity would be revealed at the end of the thirteen episode first season. They were wrong.  People were pissed.  The second season meandered a lot and people lost interest.  There were still compelling actors, but not enough happened to justify stretching out the reveal across two seasons.  After some speculation, AMC confirmed that they wouldn't be bringing back the drama for a third season.

But wait, there's more.  Netflix jumped in and offered to pay for half the production costs.  Once that deal was in place the third season was officially ago.  It seems like the only cast members returning for a third go round are stars Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman.  Billy Campbell, Michelle Forbes and Brent Sexton will not be coming back, which is for the best.

I was a fan of the show, even though it wasn't the best at times.  Enos and Kinnaman really shined and I am happy to watch them take on a new case.  There is no premiere date set for the third season.
